The project
An exterior mural for the Alvarado Arts Center in Echo Park. The neighborhood has a long history of public art, and a wall here is read by people on foot as much as by passing traffic.
The piece was built to work at both distances: legible from across the street, and detailed enough to hold people on the sidewalk.
